North Wales Crusaders first-team Head Coach, Carl Forster, shall assume overall coaching responsibility for the player development pathways assisted by Head of Rugby, Darren Morson.

At the heart of the mission for North Wales Crusaders is the provision of a player pathway to the first-team alongside the establishment of a competitive women’s team.

A lot has already been done in a short space of time; the reserves have played their first game and train regularly, an under 18’s talent ID day has been scheduled for July, and we’ve re-established our intent and recruitment for the ladies side.

We have now decided to make the most of the development opportunities for players, and be sincere with our intent to develop them, and to do that we are best served with a one club approach to the coaching philosophy.

As such, Carl Forster shall assume overall coaching responsibility for the pathway and Darren Morson will support the administration and management.

Jonathan Burgess is moving on to pursue other opportunities and we would like to thank him for his contribution to starting this journey.

On the developments, North Wales Crusaders Chairman, Bobby Watkins, said: “We have started something that is core to our vision, that’s to develop tomorrow’s first-team players from within our club.

“We wish Carl and Darren all the best with their broadened responsibilities and look forward to support their ongoing success.”
