North Wales Crusaders half-back Toby Hughes has put pen to paper on a new one-year-deal with the club, keeping him at the Colwyn Bay based outfit until the end of the 2025 season.
Hughes joined Crusaders from amateur side Newton Storm during the 2023 season, making a notable impact during that season’s play-off run, scoring a dramatic last minute drop-goal at Oldham before going on to score in the final against Doncaster.
Earning himself a stay for the 2024 season, Hughes continued to impress under Carl Forster and established himself as a regular starter for the club.
Now putting pen to paper on a new contract, Hughes shall remain at Crusaders for the 2025 season.
On signing his new deal, Hughes said: “I’m so happy to re-sign for this season.
“We’ve got a great set of coaching staff at the club and 2025 is already looking really promising with the quality and experience we’ve got in the side .
“I’m excited to get going and see all the fans back down in Colwyn bay.”
Crusaders head coach Carl Forster added: “It’s great to have Toby again this season, he’s come back to pre-season in the best shape I’ve seen him, and you can see that in the way he’s been training.
“He’s a young halfback who is keen to learn, and he’s getting better with every game.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him further his abilities this season.”
