North Wales Crusaders are delighted to confirm the signing of Liam Cooper who arrives from second tier side Swinton Lions for the 2025 season.

Cooper, who made several appearances on loan in North Wales in 2024, progressed through the ranks at Super League outfit St Helens, where he spent loan periods with Sheffield Eagles, Whitehaven and Halifax.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, ‘Ronnie’ as he prefers to be known, moved to Whitehaven where he made an immediate impact before joining up with Swinton Lions in the Championship in 2023.

On Cooper’s arrival, North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster commented: “Ronnie is someone who I know well and have worked with before.

“He’s a no nonsense player who shows 100% effort every week.

“He’s a smart player and will add valuable experience to an already great pack.”

Cooper added: “I’m very pleased to be with Crusaders for 2025.

“The club’s ambition going forward makes it an exciting time to get on board!

“I spent a month on loan with the club in June and really enjoyed my short time here, that was a key factor in signing, coupled with having previously played under Foz before and enjoying the way he gets the team playing and brings unity to the group.”
