North Wales Crusaders are delighted to secure the services of 32-year-old Matt Reid, who pens a contract until the end of the 2025 season.
The centre, who has enjoyed two spells in North Wales, has put pen to paper on a new one-year-deal to extending his stint in Colwyn Bay for another season.
Speaking on his decision to go again, Reid said: “It was a pretty disappointing season in 2024, but with Jamie (Elkaleh) coming on board, the way the squad is looking, Foz’s (Carl Forster) vision for the club and generally how we are progressing, I think I have one more year in me, and it’s exciting to see where we can go, and I really want to be part of that.”
Reid, who notched up 15 games last season, scoring six tries, added: “I’ve had a month off, I managed to put a good run of games together last time out, so the body is feeling good.”
Signing for the 2025 season sees Reid’s association with the club span 10 years where collectively he has made 75 appearances and scored 32 tries over that period.
On Reid’s new deal, North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster commented: “It’s great to keep hold of Matt.
“He brings valuable experience to the group on and off the field.
“His defensively qualities are up there with the best in the league, so he’s a real asset for us and I’m hoping that he can have a big year for us”.
