North Wales Crusaders are delighted to announce the retention of Pat Rainford who has penned a new one-year-deal with the club keeping him in Colwyn Bay until the end of the 2025 season.

Rainford arrived in North Wales in 2022 and played a crucial role in the club’s run to the 2023 Betfred League One play-off final.

The former Leigh East amateur became well known for his no nonsense approach to the game and will be set to play a staring role for the club once again in 2025.

On the new deal, Rainford commented: “I’m delighted to be doing another season at Crusaders, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in what promises to be an exciting season in 2025.”

North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster added: “Pat typifies a Crusaders player and what I want in our team.

“He’s aggressive and leads the middle unit, he was a massive miss for us last year when he picked up his injury, and it will be like getting a new signing seeing him come back into the squad.

“He leads the way in terms of all the effort areas on the field and I’m excited to see him back in a Crusaders shirt.”
