Following a successful acquisition of the club, new owners Arun and Bobby Watkins of EggChasers have penned an open letter to supporters.
Dear Crusaders supporters,
Following the completion of the takeover of North Wales Crusaders, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce both ourselves and EggChasers, in addition to expressing our gratitude for your continued support.
Back in June of this year, on the back of an appeal for donations, the club was acquired by Elkaleh LLC.
Jamie and his team successfully navigated the club through a challenging period and proceeded to recruit a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the table in Betfred League One in 2025.
As we entered into the off-season, we began the task of looking at several rugby league clubs in the north of the UK with a view to acquiring one to add to our ever expanding rugby portfolio and align with our brand’s ambitions of expansion into new areas of the country.
Following our initial research, and given the strong position which Jamie, Andy and Shaun had brought the club into, we then entered into discussions regarding the prospect of acquiring North Wales Crusaders.
For us as a brand, the acquisition of the club made perfect sense, it shall allow us to expand into a new region whilst implementing a new business plan for the club to better market itself and continue development both on and off the field.
We are experienced rugby people who understand the needs of the club and also have a clear vision of where we want to be, and North Wales is the ideal location for that.
Already working in several areas of both codes of rugby, including our successful men’s and women’s sevens teams and academies who compete around the world, we see North Wales Crusaders as a fantastic addition to the EggChaser family.
We have a number of full-time rugby people within the organisation and will aim to add value to Crusaders.
This is a move which we are passionate about, and we look forward to working with you all on over the coming years to produce a strong club which we can be proud of for years to come.
