North Wales Crusaders were proudly represented at Esher Rugby Club last weekend as a representative rugby sevens squad were lead by the club’s Head of Academy, Jonathan Burgess in the first of the 2025 EggChaser Rugby 7’s series!
Making their tournament debut, the squad featured a blend of North Wales Crusaders reserve players and players from the EggChaser 7’s development pathways who came together under the guidance of head coach of Jonathan Burgess.
With some of the squad competing in sevens for the first time, they claimed the plate with a fifth placed finish.
The team shall now continue their journey throughout the summer as they compete in the remaining two EggChaser 7’s series events at Darlington (14th June) and in North Wales (26th July).
Speaking about the team, North Wales Crusaders Head of Academy, Jonathan Burgess, said: “It was great to see the club and wider EggChaser family come together last weekend and it gives us a chance for some of our development players to put their skillsets to the test in a different environment whilst increasing the club’s brand exposure.
“I’m really proud of how the team came together for the first time, and we’re looking forward to an exciting summer series.”
