North Wales Crusaders captain Chris Barratt has penned a new deal, seeing him remain at the club for the 2025 season.

Barratt arrived in North Wales from Coventry Bears in 2020, and has become a key figure at the club establishing himself as captain under Carl Forster and playing a vital role in last season’s run to the play-off final.

This year has been no different for Barratt who has further shone including scoring a vital last second try to secure a comeback victory over Workington Town in Colwyn Bay earlier this year.

On signing a new deal, Barratt said: “I’m happy to be staying at the club for another season.

“With the recent news of the takeover, it’s exciting times at North Wales Crusaders, and I want to be to be a part of it moving forward.

“I’ve always enjoyed my time at at the club, and the fantastic support which the fans show, so I look forward to continuing that into next year.”

North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster added: “As good as making some new additions for next season will be, retaining our key players is just as exciting, and Chris Barratt is certainly one of those.

“He’s another player who’s had offers from elsewhere and teams in the league above, so to have him committed not just to the club, but also the journey which the club wants to go on under the new ownership is brilliant to see.”
