North Wales Crusaders are delighted to confirm the appointment of Darren Morson as Head Of Rugby, providing a crucial link between the first-team and new ownership as the club looks to develop.
Morson returns to the club with a wealth of experience in the game, and shall combine the role alongside his position as Team Manager with the Welsh Men’s National side.
On the appointment, North Wales Crusaders CEO Arun Watkins said: “In line with our strategy to take North Wales to the next level, we are striving to professionalise our operations on and off the field.
“This includes our people, and we are delighted to have added Darren Morson to the squad supporting Carl Forster (Head Coach) and the side as we look to build on the solid start to the season.”
Morson added: “I’m delighted to be returning to the club as Head Of Rugby, and am relishing the challenge of playing a part in what looks to be an exciting future for the club.
“Coming in to support North Wales Crusaders as Team Manager last season gave me valuable insight to the club and working along side Carl, after the season ended I took time away to continue my personal development, and I feel now the perfect time to come back to Crusaders and provide the link between Carl and the first-team staff and the ownership.
“My focus is always on the development not just of the club but also local players and people, and I think that the direction in which the club is headed fits perfectly with my personal ambitions, plus to build on the club’s relationship with Wales Rugby League.”
Crusaders head coach Carl Forster commented: “Darren will bring a key set of skills both to the role and the club which will help us on this journey.
“As we look for success and to develop under the new ownership, having everyone driving forward in the right direction will help us achieve our goals both on and off the field, and Darren being appointed to the Head Of Rugby role is the latest part of that.”
