North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster and former NRL and Super League star Pat AhVan are set to lead a youth rugby sevens masterclass in North Wales on Saturday 18th January alongside international sevens players and coaches.
Taking place at Stadium CSM, Eirias Park, the masterclass is open for ages 6-18 with the opportunity to learn new skills, have fun and impress coaches for a chance to earn a trial at the EggChasers regional academy There will also be representatives from the Lions & Lioness rugby 7’s sides, who recently won silverware in Kenya and Dubai respectively.
The session shall take place between 11am and 1pm costing just £20 with a free Crusaders t-shirt shirt for all participants.
Children engaged with the North Wales Crusaders Foundation shall also receive a code from their coaches for 5% off the session with an additional 5% donated to the foundation by owner, Arun Watkins.
Speaking about the initiative, EggChasers Founder, and himself a international 7’s player, Arun Watkins said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for the club to engage with children in the region, some of whom shall already be engaged with North Wales Crusaders and others who will be having their first exposure to the club through this session.
“The aim here is fundamentally to work alongside the community foundation, first-team personnel and international sevens coaches and players to deliver a fun and engaging session for younger players and in turn engage them into both the club and also the EggChaser family.
“Our long-term ambition is to create a standalone Crusaders academy which shall act as a stepping stone between the community activity and our first-team, to in turn drive the development of Welsh rugby league players in our team.
“With sign-ups already underway for the session, I encourage anyone interested to book early to avoid disappointment.”
