Speaking ahead of North Wales Crusaders’ Betfred League One encounter against Hunslet this afternoon, captain Chris Barratt has spoken of the need to take the final three games of the season on a game-by-game basis as Crusaders find themeselves locked into a battle for the play-off places.
“It’s going to be a tough ask to make the play-offs, he said.
“Why do it the easy way, we like to keep people on the edge of there seats.”
The 31-year-old who has been with the club since 2020 added: “We’ve got to take it one game at a time and try to knock off wins.
“We probably need to win two of the next three games to gain a play-off berth, and we will fight until the last minute of the season to try and defeat the odds.
“Once we are in the play-offs, it’s like different competition, and anything can happen – just like last season.”
The skipper has been leading from the front this season with an impressive record making 17 league and cup appearances, crossing the whitewash eight times, earning himself a contract for next season.
Touching on next season, the former Coventry Bears player said: “I’m excited to be staying in 2025, and I’m looking forward to see progressing on and off the pitch.
“The fans have been great all season and follow us all over the country, it would be great if we could repay them by putting in some good performances at the back end of the campaign and getting into the play-offs to end this year strongly.”
