As our new Head Coach Dean Muir continues to build his squad on the field, we’re delighted to bring our fans an update to the squad off the pitch.
“Firstly, we’re pleased to announce the appointment of Jake Webster to the role of Team Manager.
“Joining us from Keighley Cougars, where he held roles as both Head Coach and Director of Rugby, alongside working within the Commercial department.
“Jake has a strong history in both Super League as well as the NRL prior to moving to the UK. Jake will also be on point for any sponsorship discussions as his dual role includes being our Commercial Manager.
On joining the club Jake, had this to say “I’m really looking forward to help build the club and assist the team on an off the field. The success last season and the ambition both Bobby and Arun have really excites me and I’m looking forward to working with them in building rugby league in North Wales.”
Following formally joining the club in the summer, we’re delighted to announce the promotion of Dave Hewitt as an Assistant Coach following his role heading up the Women’s and Reserve’s programme – Dave has vast experience across both full and part-time rugby league with a strong decade-long career as a player.
Dean Muir added his thoughts: “I have spoke to Dave a lot since joining the club and been impressed with his knowledge and dedication. I can’t wait to work with him moving forward.”
Following his retirement from playing, Ben Evans joins the coaching set-up, specifically focusing on the development squad and the Welsh pathway.
Dean went on to say: “Ben is someone I’m excited to work with. He has lots of strengths and adds a different dimension to our set up.”
Chief Executive – Arun Watkins commented: “Following the appointment of Dean, everything has been fast-moving to establish how we will look going into a highly competitive championship with several teams increasing their investment from the prior season.
We’d like to thank Stu Simmons and Si Reynolds for their contributions to the club over the past seasons as they move on to new rugby challenges”.
