North Wales Crusaders can confirm a new two-year-deal for Liam Cooper, seeing him remain at the club until the end of the 2027 season.

Having progressed through the ranks at Super League outfit St Helens, where he spent loan periods with Sheffield Eagles, Whitehaven and Halifax, Cooper, better known as ‘Ronnie’, arrived in North Wales during the off season having played in the Betfred Championship with Swinton Lions and made an immediate impact within Carl Forster’s side as they sit top of League One.

Speaking about his new deal, Cooper said: “I’m very excited to be staying with Crusaders for the next two years.

“It’s been a successful season so far and I’m excited to keep building for the future.

“It was an easy decision for me to re-sign and stay with this fantastic group of players and staff at the club.”

Crusaders head coach Carl Forster added: “It’s great to keep Ronnie at the club.

“He’s a tough competitor in everything he does and typifies what I want in a Crusaders player.

“He’s aggressive in defence and doesn’t take a backwards step with the ball.”
