North Wales Crusaders captain, Chris Barratt, has signed a contract extension with the club, seeing him remain part of Carl Forster’s squad for the 2026 season.
Barratt arrived in North Wales back in 2020 having signed from Coventry Bears, and quickly established himself as one of League One’s stand out players.
Playing vital roles in the club’s play-off charges, including reaching the final in 2023, Barratt was named captain for the 2024 season before he led Crusaders to the league title in 2025.
Speaking about his new deal, Barratt said: “I’m happy to be staying at the club for another season.
“It was a proud moment to lift the League One trophy in a Crusaders shirt, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve with the squad we’re assembling for 2026 in the Championship.”
North Wales head coach Carl Forster added: “Chris has been an instrumental figure within the club since my arrival here, and he leads both on and off the field.
“I think he’s been one of the stand our players in the division for a number of years now and I know that’s attracted interest from Championship clubs, so for us to keep hold of him going into next season was a crucial move for the club.”
